The paper manufacturing businesses operated by the JP Group utilize a variety of environmentally conscious practices including the use of recovered paper as the raw material furnish and biomass fuels and sludge from the paper manufacturing process as fuel for the boilers.
JP's recycling system uses recovered wastepaper to manufacture paper, which is then re-distributed to the customer. Eco Paper JP Company Limited

The use of 100% recovered paper as raw material furnish and wood waste and sludge from the manufacturing process to fuel the boilers has enabled JP to significantly reduce the burden that its Eco Paper facility places on the environment. In 2011, operation of a completely closed, indoor confidential document destruction facility commenced. This facility takes confidential document waste disposed of by business in the neighboring community and safely and securely turns it into raw materials to be used in the manufacture of recycled paper products.
Taiho Paper Manufacture Company Limited

Taiho Paper produces containerboard from 100% recovered paper materials. Furthermore, Taiho Paper's production process uses electricity and steam supplied by the adjoining Kawabe Biomass Power Generation plant, which uses wood chips derived from wooden construction waste and forest thinnings as its boiler fuel.
Kawabe Biomass Power Generation Company Limited
In operation since 2007, this facility uses wooden biomass fuel to generate electric power. The biomass used in this process employs mainly waste wood derived from forest thinnings and construction sites, with the steam and electricity generated supplied to the Taiho Paper Manufacture mill located close by.
Kitakami Paper Company Limited
Kitakami Paper manufactures newsprint and containerboard from recovered paper resources. The Company also produces and sells paper string used by households to tie up old newspapers to be discarded. This string is made from 100% recovered paper collected through the Company’s own unique newspaper recovery system (Comprehensive newspaper recycling system: NPR100 System) established to make full use of unsold newspapers.
Corelex Group

The JP Corelex Group possesses strong product development capabilities that include superior wastepaper processing technologies and a unique coreless toilet roll production method that has seen the Group occupy a large share of the recycled toilet roll market. Since becoming part of the JP Group in 2011, efforts have been made to further enhance the Group's raw material purchasing power and product sales capacity.
