Establishment of a Subsidiary Company in Taiwan

Japan Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. hereby announce the establishment of a new subsidiary in Taipei to further enhance the Company’s business activities in Taiwan.

In 2006, Japan Pulp & Paper opened a representative office in Taipei and commenced marketing activities with the purpose of expanding its business in Taiwan. Now, with the establishment of a new subsidiary, Japan Pulp & Paper will endeavor to expand not only its sales of paper-related products, but also sales of films and various other functional materials to the high technology industries that have conglomerated in Taiwan.

Furthermore, Japan Pulp & Paper will also turn its attention to exporting products made in Taiwan and consider the creation of a converting business base to leverage the high quality, low cost business model that characterizes the area as it looks to expand its business opportunities in the Taiwanese market.
