Acquisition of Spicers Paper (Singapore) & Spicers Paper (Malaysia) Completed

Japan Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. (the Company) hereby announces that on December 11 it took control of all the outstanding shares in Spicers Paper (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Spicers Paper (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the intended acquisition of which was first reported in the Company’s news release issued on September 26, having received approval from the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) on November 27, effectively making both entities wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Company.

With the addition of these two companies, the Group’s network outside of Japan now extends to 97 operation sites in 22 countries across the globe. By maximizing the use of its world-class paper distribution network and advancing the development of its increasingly glocalized business activities, the Group will strive to improve the earning capacity of its Non-Japan Wholesale business.
