Japan Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Akihiko Watanabe; hereinafter referred to as "the company"), in collaboration with Imura & Co., Ltd., entered its Kami-Air Design Window packaging material, sold on the company’s Paper & Green marketing website, in the AsiaStar 2024 Awards contest (sponsored by the Asian Packaging Federation). The product, which won the AsiaStar Award in the Eco Package category, was exhibited at the ProPak Philippines trade show where it received favorable reviews. Kami-Air Design Window is also scheduled to be displayed at ProPak Vietnam from March 18 to 20 and at ProPak Asia in Thailand from June 11 to 14.
Kami-Air Design Window is a packaging bag that allows for its contents to be seen, made from white kraft paper that has been developed for transparency. The window is made transparent by applying a special process to the paper itself, which eliminates the need to laminate different materials such as plastic or glassine paper, which are usually required for window processing. The product is also characterized by its transparent portion having a high level of designability. Replacing conventional plastic film packaging with this product significantly contributes to reducing the plastic used in packaging.
This product was exhibited as one of the AsiaStar Award winners at the ProPak Philippines trade show, held from February 12 to 14, where it received favorable reviews. It is also scheduled to be displayed at the following exhibitions. Additionally, the AsiaStar Award Ceremony will be held during the ProPak Asia industry event.
