◆Our Group's Fundamental Approach to Sustainability
The company recognizes that responding to societal demands for sustainability is a critical management challenge that not only reduces risks but also creates revenue opportunities. In 2022, we established the Executive Sustainability Committee and the Corporate Sustainability Division as its operational body to strengthen our sustainable management framework. We define sustainability as “business activities that realize both economic and social value,” and have clarified our group's approach to social issues by identifying four themes — Environment, Society, Employees, and Governance — and 12 material issues. We are also actively disclosing our sustainability initiatives through our website and integrated reports. Going forward, we will continue to advance sustainable management, striving to resolve social issues, achieve sustainable growth for the group, and enhance long-term corporate value, while fulfilling the group's mission as stated in our Corporate Philosophy: “carving a better future for society and the environment.”
