Japan Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Akihiko Watanabe; hereinafter “the company”) hereby announces that it has been certified as a “DX Certified Business” under the DX Certification Program established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as of May 1, 2026.
◆ About the DX Certification Program
The DX Certification Program is a government initiative — established under the Act on Facilitation of Information Processing — that certifies businesses which are developing the structures and initiatives necessary to promote operational t ransformation using digital technology (Digital Transformation = DX). Companies are evaluated comprehensively on whether they have clearly defined their DX-related vision, strategies, implementation structure, and governance, and whether they are in a position to continuously realize DX.
◆ Japan Pulp & Paper’s DX Initiatives
The company has formulated its DX Grand Design to provide a strong foundation supporting the realization of OVOL Vision 2030. Under the DX Vision and six DX Strategies based on this Grand Design, the company is promoting a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing communication and strengthening its sales capabilities.
To ensure the successful implementation of DX, strong commitment from top management and swift decision-making are essential. To make this possible, the company has established the Executive DX Committee, chaired by the president. In addition, by establishing the DX Meetings ー a structure that promotes DX across the entire company with the Corporate DX Division at its core ー the company is accelerating its DX initiatives in collaboration with each business division. Combining its DX promotion functions with its IT operations and information security functions, the Corporate DX Division aims to maximize the use of digital technologies while ensuring both the stability and reliability of the company’s business foundation.
Through these initiatives, the company has enhanced its management capabilities by using digital technologies as a starting point, while also establishing a framework that enables the sustainable promotion of DX from both governance and security perspectives. The recognition of these efforts has led to the company’s certification as a DX Certified Business.
Looking ahead, the company will continue to steadily advance various initiatives based on its DX Grand Design and, by driving business transformation and operational innovation through digital technology, work to achieve the sustainable growth of the group.
At the same time, the company will further strengthen its DX initiatives to become a corporate group capable of delivering greater value to all its stakeholders, including customers, business partners, and executives and employees.
