In accordance with the Japan Pulp & Paper Group Charter of Corporate Behavior, the Japan Pulp & Paper Group will not only comply with laws and regulations, but will also contribute to sustainable economic growth and solutions to social issues through fair and free competition based on the ethical and moral standards required by society.
We regard compliance with antimonopoly laws as an important management issue, and will not rely on legally questionable systems or practices, nor will we pursue profits by unfair means or engage in corporate activities that disregard compliance.
We shall comply with the following standards of conduct to prevent cartels, bid rigging, unfair trade practices, and other violations of antimonopoly laws.
We will not engage in any contact with competitors that may violate or give rise to suspicions of violating antimonopoly laws.
We will not exchange information or make joint arrangements with competitors on matters that restrict fair and free competition, such as prices, quantities, sales territories, etc., with respect to the products and services we handle.
In participating in competitive bidding, we will not exchange information or agree in advance with any competitor regarding the awarded contractor, the amount of the contract, or any other matters.
We will not take advantage of our superior position in business transactions to return or reduce the amount or cost of goods without justifiable reason, or in any other way unfairly disadvantageous to our business partners in light of normal business practices.
In order to prevent any violation of antimonopoly laws and to conduct sound business transactions based on fair and free competition, we will make this policy known to all executives and employees and provide education and training on a regular basis.
We will build a system for compliance with antimonopoly laws by operating an internal reporting system, conducting periodic audits of compliance with antimonopoly laws, and establishing other rules and regulations.
